02. Mon May 13: in Lima: 9:00 am tour; return to hotel by 13:00 pm
03. Tue May 14: in Lima: free time
04. Wed May 15: leave hotel @ 15:00 pm; depart Lima @ 17:30 pm; arrive Arequipa @ 19:00 pm
05. Thu May 16: in Arequipa: 9:00 am tour, 13:00 pm city tour; return by 17:00 pm

06. Fri May 17: 8:30 am bus ride to colca canyon, Chivay (4500m), afternoon at leisure
07. Sat May 18: 6:00 am Colca Canyon tour, evening in Chivay
08. Sun May 19: morning tour and bus ride to Puno, acclimatize in afternoon
09. Mon May 20: 7:50 am to Lake Titicaca: day tour and overnite stay
10. Tue May 21: in Lake Titicaca/Taquile Island

11. Wed May 22: leave Puno @ 6:15 am bus ride to Cusco; arrive Cusco @ 17:30 pm
12. Thu May 23: 7:50 am to Sacred Valley: full day tour; return @ 17:00 pm
13. Fri May 24: 9:30 am to Sacred valley: Cachicatta day hike; return @ 18:00 pm
14. Sat May 25: leave sacred valley @ 14:30 pm; 15:37 pm aft train; arrive Aguas Calientes @ 17:00 pm

Here's the customised itinerary provided by Class Adventure Travel for the Peru trip which leaves in May.

Day 1: Arrive Lima, Peru
Day 2: Afternoon tour of Lima
Day 3: Free day in Lima
Day 4: Leave Lima and fly to Arequipa
Day 5: Arequipa food market and cooking class, followed by a half day tour
Day 6: Leave Arequipa and bus ride up to Colca Canyon
Day 7: Hiking in Colca Canyon
Day 8: Leave Colca Canyon and bus ride to Puno, Lake Titicaca
Day 9: Tour Lake Titicaca
Day 10: Explore Lake Titicaca
Day 11: Leave Puno and bus ride to Cusco
Day 12: Bus ride to Sacred Valley and afternoon tour
Day 13: Hiking in Ollantaytambo and Cachiccata
Day 14: Free day in Sacred Valley, train ride to Machu Picchu
Day 15: Explore Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu
Day 16: Explore Machu Picchu, train ride to Cusco

There was the original intention to take the two day Inca trail hike on Days 13 and 14, but by mid January, CAT Travel had advised that all the tickets for the intended day in May had already been sold. Very Disappointing!

Last Minute Information

• SHORT INCA TRAIL to MACHUPICCHU 2D/1N 
• The permits for Inca Trail trek are so limited, only 200 permits available per day FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. You must book and pay a deposit well in advance. For high season (May to October, 6-5 months in advance.)
